Well, I've had a migraine for the last week! BLAH! But that won't stop me from making my cards, right? My card today qualifies for a lot of challenges! This is the first time I've actually set out to fit my creation into a lot of blog challenges! It was quite fun to try to incorporate the required elements yet not making my card be overdone, or too busy! Hopefully, you won't think so, at least!
My card qualifies for the following challenges: Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #39, Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge: Hearts, Creative Card Crew Challenge: Valentine's, Cute Card Thursday: Challenge 98 - Spots & Dots, Catch the Blug Challenge: Non-Traditional Color Valentine, Polka Doodles: Non-Traditional Valentine, Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge: Love/Valentine, Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: Hearts, and Sophisticat Challenge Blog: Love. WHEW! Now on to the instructions for my card!
My card uses the beautiful designer papers of Die Cuts with a View called "La Creme". This pad has papers in shades of ivory, ecru and black with prints that includes flocking, flowers, stripes, polka dots and geometric shapes. I just love, love, love this paper stack!! It has such a vintage feel to it!
I cut my heart out of a floral flocked paper, then used a snowflake punch for the lacy look around my heart. I adhered my background paper to an ivory card which had been punched with the Looped Hearts punch. I then punched two doily strips out of black and ivory dotted paper and adhered them to my dotted paper. I glued my heart to the card, added black satin rosettes, a black sparkly bow and an ivory pearl flower. I computer generated my sentiment and mounted it to black cardstock, then to my card. I glued a black strip on the inside of my card edge, then finished off with pearls I had colored with a Copic marker. All punches used are by Martha Stewart. Card size: 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches
