Operation Write Home is a network of cardmakers who create blank handmade greeting cards in support of our nation's heroes for them to write home on. Operation Write Home recently started a new blog, Stars and Stamps, to inspire the many cardmakers. The Stars and Stamps blog features inspiration, challenges, tutorials, creativity and more! Operation Write Home is currently hosting a Half and Half challenge to inspire cardmakers to create Mother's and Father's Day cards.
Fred, She Said Designs is offering a FREE Tulips digital stamp for Mother's Day and I have been asked to write a tutorial for using the free image today on the Stars and Stamps Blog. Please check it out and also the latest Half and Half Operation Write Home Campaign.
I printed the Tulip Trio on Whisper White cardstock, then cut out the right side of the image. I colored with Copic Markers and sponged Memento Sky Blue ink onto the left side of the colored image to represent "sky". I then added self-adhesive rhinestones and a peel-off sticker butterfly. With a Photo Corner Punch by Martha Stewart, I made two photo corners from a scrap of pink dotted paper by The Paper Studio. I attached them to the upper and lower left corners and added self-adhesive square rhinestones. I adhered this panel to a butterfly embossed white cardstock by Bazzill, then glued it to a soft rosy pink card. I added a pretty bow to finish the card. Card size is 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches.

ReplyDeleteYour card is just stunning with those gorgeous tulips! I love the gemstone and butterfly accents and especially how you cut around the image on the right side! Fabulous image, card and tutorial! TFS!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning! Love your cutting technique on the one side! So glad that others are learning about Operation Write Home. I've been involved with them thanks to my daughter that received some of the cards while she was in Iraq. I don't make blank cards, since the soldiers can always use paper to write with. Too many of them just want a quick reminder that they are doing well & let others know that they are being thought about often. It would be great for everyone to join in on the OWH Blog Hop on Sat., March 20th! More hoppers are appreciated, check out http://operationwritehome.org/bloghop & the hoppers will be pleased with all of the blog candy available during the hop!
