Festive Poinsettia ...

It's less than a week until Christmas, and I am winding down my holiday card making! Here is a pretty card I created using Spellbinders® Paper Arts Layered Poinsettia with JustRite® Papercraft Festive Poinsettia. My background was made by cutting the dies out of post-it notes, then sticking them to white cardstock. I used Creative Inspirations paints and dabbed color over the surface until I was happy with the results. I then removed the post-it notes and over stamped with the Festive Poinsettia stamp in red ink. Add designer paper and a big black silk bow and it is finished! ~Enjoy~

Happy Thanksgiving...

This week is a celebration of gratitude and family, and as my brothers and sister arrive for the holiday, I'm filled with thankfulness and blessings! Wishing you and yours the Happiest Thanksgiving full of laughter, love and yummy food and always be thankful for what you have, for there are many others who are less fortunate! ~ Enjoy!

I've created my scenic sunset using Creative Inspirations Paint Buttercup, Raw Sienna, Pumpkin, Burnt Clay, Rustic Red, Burgundy and Coal in that order with a wet paintbrush. My poppies are from Spellbinders® Paper Arts Die D-Lites™ Asters and Poppies and I cut/embossed from black cardstock. My sun uses Standard Circles LG, and my JustRite® Papercraft sentiment from Autumn Vintage Labels Three is stamped on Die D-Lites Frame One

Fall Bliss ...

November in New York is when the leaves are almost all gone and we are settling in for a long winter. Soon, the leaves on the ground will be covered in snow, and all the beautiful colors of autumn will be a memory. Fall is my favorite season with the balmy weather, bright colors and time of harvest! I've created this card with these thoughts in mind! ~Enjoy~!

My leaves are from Spellbinders® Paper Arts Fall Foliage dies, and are cut from ivory cardstock, then painted with various mixtures of Creative Inspirations Paints including: Burnt Clay, Pumpkin, Raw Sienna, Rustic Red, Emerald, Green Olive and Sunshine. Once dry, I used the cracked glass technique, then rubbed it with Olive Grove ink to highlight the cracks. I layered them on an M-Bossabilities Tweets and Twigs embossed background, attached a twine bow, tiny twigs and a fall sentiment from JustRite Papercraft to finish the card.

Thankful for You...

I love the colors of Autumn with leaves and chrysanthemums in reds, yellows, greens and oranges. Today I have created a fall floral card that would be a perfect hostess gift at Thanksgiving or for any occasion where you are feeling most thankful.

I love to make flowers and Creative Inspirations paints have amazing color and shimmer to bring the petals to life. For my mum, I started by cutting 15 of the Die D-Lites™ Blooms Two die from Spellbinders® with ivory paper. I painted the back side of each flower with Burgundy paint, then turned it over and painted the front with Burnt Clay.

With a dry embossing tool and foam mat, I shaped the petals into a cup and then touched the tips with Buttercup paint. I glued one flower on top of the other, and continued in that manner until I got the fullness I wanted for my larger mum. With leftover flowers, I created two smaller mums. As a background for my mum, I cut various leaves from the Fall Foliage die set out of olive green cardstock, and painted them with Evergreen. I added a touch of Buttercup and Burnt Clay to the edges to show the changing of the leaves.

My sentiment from Autumn Vintage Labels Three was stamped onto Frame Two, then layered on top of Decorative Wrought Iron.
