Snow Days...

So far, we've had a wet winter, and not a sign of snow! So I created this darling card for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store using a new Stampavie stamp called "Snow Family". I just fell in love with it! I stamped it with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it to match Bo Bunny's Snow Day Collection paper pad. I cut and embossed the image with Spellbinders Paper Arts™ Labels One and matted it to Scalloped Labels One. I dusted the edges of the image with Rangers Distress Antique Linen ink pad.

My sentiment comes from JustRite Papercraft's Winter Words, and I finished the card with a bow made with Aquarelle Seam Binding, then added some snowflake buttons and yellow rhinestones for embellishments.

Countdown to Christmas...

Black Friday is the official start of the Christmas Shopping season and it's a perfect time to get to work on your Christmas Cards! The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store has quite a fantastic selection of holiday papers, embellishments and ribbons to make your card making easy!

My card today uses KaiserCraft's Merry & Bright paper pad, and I paired it with a darling stamp by Stampavie called "Cardinal on a Pine Branch". I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on a Spellbinders Paper Arts™ Nestabilities® Label Four piece, then colored with Copic Markers and added a bit of shading with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink. I added pretty Crochet Lace with Bittersweet Burlap String and a bow and finished it off with a sentiment from the Merry & Bright paper pad.

JustRite Papercraft November Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day Two of the JustRite Papercraft November Release and our stamp sets today have a great masculine feel to them! It's always hard for me to make cards for men because I'm afraid I'll add too much to it! I'm using "Premium Labels" today with the coordinating die set "Antique Labels One Die".

JustRite Papercraft November Release - Day 1

Today the designers with JustRite Papecraft are showcasing the latest stamp release for November with a Blog Hop! We've got a lot of inspiration for you! I chose to design with the beautiful new background stamp called "Song Bird". This doesn't look like a quick and easy card but it was!

I stamped the background on white cardstock with Versamark and embossed with black powder. I lightly dusted the edges with Marvy Caribbean Blue ink pad and softly colored the bird and flowers with Copic Markers.  My three-looped bow is made with layers of black and white silk ribbon from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Birdsong...

Today, I am showcasing a fabulous new paper pad by Graphic 45 called "Birdsong"! You can find this gorgeous pad at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store along with coordinating embellishments. I absolutely love the oriental flair of this release.

I used the bird print as my focal point on my card, then adhered it to Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Asian Motifs, before adding it to my split background panel. I created a gorgeous ivory and black silk ribbon bow to accent the card and finished it with white pearls from KaiserCraft.

Happy Halloween!!

So, while Hurricane Sandy is storming around me, I have created a darling birdhouse for Halloween! I had a lot of fun with this! I painted my birdhouse (purchased from Hobby Lobby) with two shades of acrylic orange paint, including the roof. Next, I added Crackle Medium to the roof, let it dry to just tacky, and swiped on black paint which gave it a fantastic aged look.

Once the paint on the roof was dry, I cut and embossed Spellbinders™ Spider Web in black cardstock and adhered the web to the side corners and under the eaves of the birdhouse. I used the Persian Accents border for my fencing around the bottom, and my sentiment "Something Wicked" from Quietfire Design was stamped on Romantic Rectangles which was stamped and stenciled with black and orange ink.

I added Spanish moss and twigs I had sprayed with black paint, and topped it off with a black bird I found at Michael's. My final touch were the spiders that come with the Spider Web die which I had cut, embossed and added orange rhinestones for eyes. Here's a close up look of the crackle roof, spider and bird:
