Supply List:

Spellbinders Paper Arts™
Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur® Die Cutting Machine
Shapeabilities® S5-103 Bauble Blossoms One
Nestabilities® S4-301 Labels Sixteen #3
Shapeabilities® S4-328 Foliage #5

Cross Promotional Partners

Other supplies:

Embossing Stylus, May Arts Ivory Silk Ribbon, Decorative Stick Pins, Copic Marker G40, Memento Tuxedo Black and Angel Pink inkpads, Singer White Buttons, Recollections Pearls and Rhinestones

Card making instructions:

To make the trellis:

Cut 14 ivory quilling strips from Shapeabilities® S5-103 Bauble Blossoms One. Cut 4 of them into 5 inch pieces and mark with 1 inch hash marks.  Glue the 4 strips at each end to make a 5 inch square as shown.

Next, cut 2 strips at 6 ¾ inches, 4 at 5 5/8 inches, 4 at 4 ¼ inches with the remaining 10 ivory strips. With the pieces left over, cut 4 at 2 ¾ inches, and 4 at 1 3/8 inches. Following the photo, lay your strips against the hash marks on your square and glue with Beacon Adhesives 3-in-1 Glue . Once these pieces are dry, you will start weaving your other strips in the opposite direction as shown in the photo below. When finished, you will have your trellis grid. Glue grid to decorative patterned paper sized 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 inches.

To make your flowers:

Cut 3 quilling strips from the pink crepe paper, 2 from the ivory crepe, and 1 from the green crepe paper. Cut 4 flower pieces from the Wide petals die template of Shapeabilities® S5-103 Bauble Blossoms One, and 3 flower pieces from the Pointed petals die template. Cut 4 large rose leaves from the Shapeabilities® S4-328 Foliage.

With your embossing stylus, roll the quilling strip into a tight circle as shown in the photo. Apply Scor-pal® Scor-tape ¼ inch to the small end of the wide petals pink crepe piece and attach rolled quilling circle. Peel backing off Scor-Tape and roll flower around the rolled circle. Once petals are completely rolled, fold petals backward and crunch crepe paper softly to form your rose.

Repeat the above steps with the Pointed Petals ivory crepe piece for your second flower. Make all of your flowers and set aside.

Making your flower centers:

Apply Flower Soft Dimensional Glue to the top of a white button, then dip into Flower Soft Peony Pink and let dry. Make 3 for your pink flowers. Apply glue to the top of a white button, then dip into Polar White Flower Soft and let dry. You’ll need to make 2 of these for your white flowers. Once dry, apply a dot of glue to a decorative pearl or rhinestone and place in the center of your Flower Soft buttons. Adhere the buttons to the center of your flowers.

Following the diagram in the photo below, cut the remaining Wide Petals and Pointed Petals strips to make your flower buds. For these buds, you do not use a rolled quilling strip. Simply roll the petals and seal with Scor-Tape. Wrap a small piece of green crepe paper quilling strip around base of bud for the calyx. You can vary the size of the buds by having more or less petals.

Arrange the leaves on your Trellis panel in a pleasing manner. Adhere the panel to pink cardstock sized 5 ¼ x 5 ¼ inches, then glue to an ivory card sized 5 5/8 x 5 5/8 inches.

Putting your card together:

Lay out your flowers on the Trellis grid until you are happy with the placement, then glue to your panel. Add a pretty silk ribbon bow and decorative stick pins. Gently fluff the petals of your flowers as they may have flattened while being glued.

Creating your sentiment piece:

Stamp your sentiment from JustRite Papercraft – Cast All Your Cares Clear Stamp Set on ivory cardstock with black ink, then cut and emboss with Nestabilities® S4-301 Labels Sixteen #3. Leave the cardstock in the die, and sponge pink ink on the edges for a stencil effect. Edge your piece with Copic Marker G40 and add pink rhinestones. Layer the back of your sentiment panel with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ 3D Foam Squares, then attach to your card.

Cherished Memories...

Monday will be the 12th anniversary of my father's passing and I wanted to create a Memory Frame using a new die set from Spellbinders Paper Arts™. No matter how many years pass, I still miss him so very much! LYTAM Daddy!

Surprisingly, this worked up pretty quickly. I cut  and embossed the Antique Frame from Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Antique Frame and Accents out of Royal & Langnickel Engraving Art Black/Copper Foil sheets using the Grand Calibur®. With an emery board, I removed the black coating on the frame's embossed areas to showcase the copper foil underneath. I inserted the photo of my father when he was in the navy, and added Creative Impressions Cherished Memories Twill ribbon and some antique buttons. A knotted ribbon, twine in the buttons and ivory pearls finished it off.

I layered my frame with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam dots to ivory cardstock and fussy cut around the frame to give it a matted look. I shaded the edge of the ivory frame with Copic Marker E53. With more foam dots, I added this piece to a Labels Seventeen panel I had cut from the Black/Copper Foil and had sanded.

The back of my frame uses the tag from the Antique Frame set and I also cut and embossed it with the black/copper foil then sanded it. I mounted it to ivory cardstock, cut around it to mat it, then adhered the top portion of the tag to the back of my frame for the frame stand.

U are so loved...

So, I've always been a fan of Sweet 'n Sassy stamps! Way back when, I tried out for the Sweet 'n Sassy design team, and was completely thrilled when Korin called and asked me to be on her team. It was my first design team, and I remember being so nervous. I enjoyed a year on the Sweet 'n Sassy team before moving on to other opportunities. But my love for Korin's stamps have endured!

And what's fabulous about Sweet 'n Sassy this week? They are having a 40% off sale on their entire store! Now is the time to purchase these wonderful stamps!! But hurry, the sale ends on the 25th of April!

I have created a pretty card using two of her more recent stamps, Butterfly Flourish and You. I made it a Clean and Simple card, showing the stamps in their full glory.

I created this card easily by stamping the Butterfly Flourish once on white cardstock, then once on my folded card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped my sentiment from You on the left side of my card. I outlined my images on my card with Copic Marker B21, and added a touch of V12 to the floral U sentiment.

I colored the butterflies with Copic Markers on both the card and the spare piece. I cut and glittered the butterflies on the cardstock, then cut them out and added them to the stamped image on my card. I finished the card with sponging using Memento Lulu Lavender and Summer Sky.

My card uses JustRite's With Sympathy and Classic Lace Edges One Clear stamp sets. I stamped the roses on a white card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored with Copic Markers. My sentiment was stamped and colored as well. I stamped my Classic Lace Edges One on pink, peach and yellow cardstock with Versamark then embossed with white embossing powder. Next, I cut them out with Spellbinders™ Edgeabilities® Classic Edges Two. I adhered my lace pieces to my card, added pearls and a soft silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

God's Blessings...

Here's a pretty card I created featuring one of my favorite flowers, the pansy! My pansy background paper was made by my daughter, Lee, who is a computer graphics artist. She took images from vintage postcards and arranged them for me, and I just printed it out. I just love the paper! Wait until you see the rose background paper she did as well!!

For my card, I cut my pansy paper with Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Labels Seventeen, then added three strips of 1/4 inch white silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store around the panel. I layered my piece to Lattice Rectangles with pop dots, then added that piece to a yellow panel with rounded corners. I took a white pigment ink pad to the edges of my dark purple card, then adhered the entire panel to it.

I stamped and embossed Mini Tags 3 from Our Daily Bread Designs with white embossing powder on dark purple cardstock then cut it out with Shapeabilities® Ribbon Tags Trio Three. I stamped my sentiment from the Mini Tags 3 set with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto a Classic Scalloped Oval that was shaded with Copic Marker V12. I layered the sentiment to my embossed tag, then adhered it to Shapeabilities® Fancy Tags Three with Want2Scrap Nestabling Fancy Tags 3. I attached my sentiment piece to my card with pop dots, then added a pretty double silk bow, with a big pearl as the finishing touch.

Thank you, Stacey!

Here is my last thank you card for the wonderful Stacey Caron, owner of Spellbinders Paper Arts! As you know, I am thrilled to have been chosen as one of the 2012 Spellbinders Design team and this is the card I created for Stacey for the Design Team Retreat in Arizona. I had such a wonderful, thrilling time at the retreat, and becoming a part of the Spellbinders family is a dream come true! Once again, thank you to Kim, Cathy and Stacey for this wonderful opportunity!! Miss you guys!

I chose to use hearts for Stacey's card as it represents my love of Spellbinders die templates! My designer paper from Anna Griffin set the color scheme and tone for the card. I wanted something pretty and feminine! I cut out hearts using Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Classic Hearts with a piece of the designer paper and Classic Scalloped Hearts out of coordinating cardstock. I added some shading to the smaller heart after stamping my sentiment from JustRite Papercraft Autumn Words in Memento Tuxedo black ink. Next, I added Want2Scrap Nestabling Scalloped Hearts to my heart pieces and added dimension with pop-dots. The outside layer of Nestabling on the sentiment heart was shaded with Copic Markers.

I adhered 4 Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Persian Motifs to the back of my heart piece, after shading the edges as well. I layered the designer paper onto green cardstock, and wrapped beautiful white silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store around both panels before adhering to a white card. My final touch was three silk ribbon bows topped with a large pearl.

thank you for Cathy...

Here's the card I created for Cathy Chlebana, DT Coordinator of Spellbinders for the fabulous time we all had at the Design Team Retreat. Cathy is one amazing lady and I'm so excited to be working with her this year!! We had such a good time on the Party Bus, especially Cathy (but what happens on the bus, stays on the bus)!!

I created this card using soft blue tones because Cathy doesn't like pink! I dug out my vintage glass glitter for this project and tinted it lightly with Copic Marker refill E55 which gave me a soft antique look. I coated the largest Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Decorative Element Picot Edges circle with the glitter, then layered Shapeabilities® Blossom Tags and Accents. I added more glass glitter to that piece, then layered with Shapeabilities® Fancy Tags Two

I added Want2Scrap Nestabling Fancy Tags Two to my fancy tag, then created a sentiment strip using JustRite Papercraft Autumn Words. All of my layers were popped up for extra dimension. I added a pretty lacy wired ribbon bow, then topped that off with a soft silk ribbon fork bow from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. My designer paper is from Tim Holtz's Ideaology paper stack which I wrapped with more lacy and satin blue ribbon. My final touch was to adhere the piece to a blue panel, then to an ivory card.

Thank you...

Here's a pretty card I created for Kim Hupke, Spellbinder's Educational Director, thanking her for the fabulous time we all had at the Design Team Retreat. I sneakily had the entire design team sign the card as well! Come back tomorrow to see what I created for Cathy, the DT Coordinator, then on Thursday I will show the card I made for Stacey, owner of Spellbinder's.

I created this card using Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty, along with JustRite Papercraft's Kindness stamp set. I embossed the stamps using Versamark and white and black embossing powder for each label. I added Nestabling Labels Twenty around the largest label from Want2Scrap. My sentiment is from the JustRite Papercraft Spring Words set, which was embossed with black. I layered the labels with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares

My designer paper is from Prima's Moulin Rouge paper stack which I cut in half and adhered to a black panel. I added my Venise Lace, pink tulle, and gorgeous silk ribbon from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I finished the card with a fluffy tulle bow which was then layered with a silk ribbon bow, a pearl/rhinestone button and black pearls.

JustRite Papercraft April Release Day Four

Welcome to Day Four of JustRite Papercraft's April Release and the design team is showcasing two background stamps called Grandma's Attic and Fleuriste Newsprint. Today is last day of the April Release and I hope you've enjoyed the fabulous creations we've shown!

For my card, I stamped Fleuriste Newsprint on black cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I wrapped black pleated ribbon around my panel, then layered on crochet lace, and twisted silk ribbon. I tied a pretty red silk bow and added a rhinestone/pearl button. I adhered that panel to red mirror cardstock, then to a white card.

I cut a small Spellbinders™ Decorative Elements Nestabilities® Fleur de lis Squares and inked the edges of the die before cutting it out, then added my sentiment. I layered it to JustRite Papercraft Nested Medallion Label Dies, then added it to my card. My butterflies were stamped and embossed from the same Fleuriste Newsprint background stamp, then cut out and adhered to the front of my cad. My final touches were red rhinestones.

JustRite Papercraft April Release Day Three

Welcome to Day Three of JustRite Papercraft's April Release and the design team is showcasing Classic Lace Edges One, and Classic Lace Edges Two! As you have seen over the last two days, the stamps are beyond gorgeous! I don't see how you can't want them all!! You could have a chance to win the entire Release, and more information is posted below!!

My project today is very special to my heart as it showcases my beautiful daughter on her wedding day. Janessa and Niklas were married in a small church in San Diego and she was just gorgeous in her simple gown and baby's breath in her upswept hair. Niklas was very handsome in his suit and tie! A lovely day for the beginning of their sweet life together. For you, Nessa! Love and Miss you bunches!!!

I painted my wooden frame with White Americana acrylic paint, then edged it with a Pentouch Gold Pen on the outer and inside part of the wood. I stamped Classic Lace Edges Two on four strips of My Mind's Eye designer paper then cut them out with Spellbinders™ Edgeabilities® Classic Edges Two. I just love that JustRite and Spellbinders work so well together! My two favorite companies!! My four lace pieces were centered on the frame, then I adhered the pearl strand around the outer edge. I added gold pearls and beautiful white silk ribbon from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

I created my roses with Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Donna Salazar Bitty Blossoms, and Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Spiral Blossom One. I cut and edged the blossoms with the gold pen, rolled them up and glued them. They are so incredibly easy to make! I then stamped Elegant Fronds on green cardstock with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut my leaves from that panel and cut my sprigs with Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Foliage using white glitter paper. I arranged all the floral components on the lower left portion of my frame.

Lastly, I stamped and embossed the small medallion from Always & Forever Medallion Labels with white embossing powder and layered it to a small medallion that I had cut  from the Spellbinders™ Shapeabilities® Persian Motifs, My sentiment was stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder before I added it to the layered medallions. My final touch was adding the Sentiment medallion piece to the upper right corner of my frame!

It's Day Two of the JustRite Papercraft April Release and we are showcasing some very pretty stamps today! I can't pick a favorite as I love them all! Wait til you see what the design team has created for you!

My card uses the Elegant Fronds background and the Vintage Rose Medallions with the coordinating Nested Oval Medallion Label Dies.

I created my background by stamping Elegant Fronds on black Bazzill cardstock with Versamark, then embossing with gold embossing powder. Next, I cut the panel apart with Spellbinders™ Edgeabilities® E8-007 Classic Edges One die templates. I glued both pieces to a white Bazzill cardstock panel and added pretty swirly rhinestones. I stamped my Vintage Rose Medallions on white, then cut it out with Nested Oval Medallion Label Dies. I colored the image with Copic Markers and created a small sentiment piece to fit in the center. I used pop-dots to layer my medallion on to my background panel. Lastly, I added a gorgeous burgundy silk ribbon and bow, then adhered it to a black card to finish it off.
