I haven't made any Father's Day cards since my dad passed in 2000, so masculine cards have been a bit difficult for me. When I saw Anchors Away, I knew the sentiment was perfect for my card today. I stamped the Cozy Plaid Background stamp on purple cardstock with Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder. I then stamped the Rope frame on a dotted pattern paper with Versamark and embossed with black. I colored the rope around the frame with a Sakura White Gel pen, and a touch of gray and purple to the frame with Copic Markers. Next, I stamped my sentiment on a dark purple patterned paper with Versamark and embossed with white. I added pop dots for dimension and threaded rope through the frame for a seafaring look before adhering it to a black panel and a purple card!  The handsome man in the photo is my Father!

Please take some time to visit all the designers participating in today's Blog Hop and don't forget to come back again this week to see what else we've created using the fabulous new release from JustRite Papercraft and Amy Tedder (the stamp designer)!

  1. Darsie, your card is STUNNING!!! I just love how you did the background and 'grounded' it all with the twine - it looks amazing!!! Your Dad was obviously a wonderful, handsome man and I'm sure you miss him such a lot!

  2. Beautiful card. My dad died last fall, and it is difficult to think about Father's Day.
