Happy Memorial Day!

Please take a moment to remember those who have fought and died for our freedom today! Remember to do this everyday as well!

This is my last week on the Critter Challenge Design Team, having stepped down to pursue another opportunity. My card follows the sketch on their blog, and my image is from Fred, She Said. My designer papers are by Basic Grey!

Holiday Sunday... Pumpkin Patch

Today is Holiday Sunday and I've used a stamp set from JustRite Stamps. I am really liking them and am planning on purchasing more! I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock, colored with Copic Markers then cut it out with an Oval Nestabilities. I sponged orange ink on the edges and mounted it to a larger oval of white glittery cardstock.

I added glittery green scrolls (the waste pieces from a punch) around the white oval, then mounted it to a glittery yellow cardstock I had cut with a Scalloped oval Nestabilities. My filigree edging are from the Fancy Tags Nestabilities, and I strung orange ribbon through the edges. My designer paper is Origins by Basic Grey and I finished the card off with orange gingham bows and green rhinestones.

Belli Challenge today...

One of MY cards is in the finalists for the "Priscilla Award" on the Midnight Madness Blog, so please, please, go and vote for me HERE!!! YAY!!!! (how's that for a shameless plug??)

Here is my card for the Belli Challenge! Our challenge was to only use flat embellishments and follow a sketch (you can see it on the Belli blog). Let me tell you, it was difficult not to add a bow, pearls and more to my card! (But I cheated a bit! I took the picture to fit the challenge, then went back and added my bow, and pearls!) I didn't add too much, but it satisfied my need for bling!!

A Walk in the Park...

Here is my card for Midnight Madness this week! Read on about a special award that is being given, and the person behind it!

One of MY cards is in the finalists, so please, please, go and vote for me HERE!!! YAY!!!! (how's that for a shameless plug??)

Welcome to the last week of the month long Midnight Madness Blogaversary celebration. This will be the last week to get in on the Huge Blogaversary Candy Giveaway and the May monthly sponsors prize that is being awarded to 5 people! We have had a blast with you at the dance party and the barbecue and now we have one more surprise for our final festivity. For the last week of our gala event we are rolling out the red carpet and are about to embark on a yearly Blogaversary tradition. Each of the design team had to pick out a favorite dress on the "red carpet" and I chose this one! How pretty is this? Helen Mirren wears it so well!

In honor of the person who started the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, the design team unanimously chose to name a very special award the "Priscilla Award". Priscilla has inspired, encouraged, motivated, and stimulated everyone of us in our crafting endeavors. She has been our friend, our mentor, our confident, our sister in crafting. She is tireless in her efforts to bring you the best of the best each week and to challenge each and everyone of us to achieve greater heights than we ever thought imaginable. She was humbled by the idea of us coming together to call it the "Priscilla Award", but we as the Design Team thought it was only fitting for the highest honor that someone could achieve on Midnight Madness to be named after our founding individual.

We would like to present to ONE outstanding card/craft person who is represented amongst our GOLD STAR winners of the past year, the coveted "Priscilla Award". Not only that, but it is going to be the "PEOPLES CHOICE". What does that mean....that means that the Midnight Madness weekly players are going to choose the winner this time!!!! You can find the 20 finalists randomly chosen for this honor HERE. The voting will last all week, so tell your friends and family to come vote too. Voting closes Monday May 31st at 8pm PST

*Our MMSC55 weekly Bonus sponsor is.....

But that's not all!! The sponsor for May for Midnight Madness is PB Stamps (they stock retired and new Penny Black stamps) and their prize this month is to give 5 lucky winners 15% off everything in their store for the rest of their lives!!! What a fabulous offer! Hop over to the Midnight Madness Blog to read more about it!

Any Holiday of my choosing! So, without further ado, of course, the first card MUST be a Christmas card!  I did a little paper pricking, embossing and glittering. My image is from Stampin' Up! Sweet Butterfly...

I had fun with the Our Creative Corner's Sketch Challenge this week. I didn't even use a digital or rubber stamp on it! Can you imagine? I did use a pretty butterfly from a die I got from England! and I layered it onto a scalloped circle cut out. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the lower edge, some silky rickrack for the upper portion and my flowers are from Prima Marketing. It's a BBQ Party at Midnight Madness...

This week's Party for the Midnight Madness Blogaversary Celebration is a BBQ Party! We would like you to share anything that pertains to a BBQ. By posting a comment on the Midnight Madness Blog, you will be entered in our random BBQ comment contest! It could be your favorite recipe, favorite game, family picture or just a fun story. We would love to see what you would like to share with us and in return, the design team have all picked out one of our favorite recipes to share with YOU! So, as you drool over all the fantastic creations this week, you can also drool over the yummy BBQ dishes. Have fun!

My favorite memory is when we went to my Great-Aunt's house for a huge family reunion BBQ! There was games like croquet and volleyball, tons and tons of food, and hand-churned ice cream for dessert! It was a fun day where we just ate and played and rolled down the hill!! Once on my own, I made a salad that my dad fell in love with and the recipe is below:

Tomato Egg Salad

Large beefsteak tomatoes
sliced cucumbers
sliced red onion
Sliced hard boiled eggs
3/4 cup Italian Dressing
1/4 cup White Vinegar

Toss vegetables and eggs with dressing and vinegar, and stir occasionally to coat veggies. Keep cold until serving. You can add other veggies if you'd like, such as green peppers, carrots, etc.

Here is my creation for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #54:

I stamped Ansley's Surprise Gift using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper white cardstock. I aged the image with Distress Ink, colored with Copic Markers, then cut it out. My designer papers are from an old paper stack called "Life's Journey". Card size; 5 1/2 x 6 inches
