Critter Challenge #4

Click HERE to go to the Ethereal Forest Designs Blog Hop!

(Dealing with a migraine can be lousy, and I spent most of the day in bed with it! I'm so glad I had my next few days of cards stock piled in my stash. I also have to have 2 root canals done on Thursday, so if you don't see a post from me, you'll know I'm still not up to crafting.)

Today is the 4th Critter Challenge and our challenge was to "make a card using an image that has a flower in it. The image itself can be a flower or it can be an image that has a flower somewhere in it. The second part of the challenge is to use the color combination of blue, yellow and green." Lucky for me, I was able to find a designer paper that fit those requirements and my image is from Paper Jewels, the Sponsor for the Critter Challenge this month!

I stamped my imaged using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White cardstock, then colored with Copic Markers. I mounted the image to a red cardstock panel. My sentiment is a digistamp from Sweet 'n Sassy's Love Sentiments I and I printed it on Whisper White cardstock. I cut it out with the Labels Nine Nestabilities then adhered it to a red cardstock piece. The designer paper is from the "Kids Stack" by Die Cuts with a View and I mounted it to a blue card. I added "faux" stitching around the edges of the image and the sentiment label, added rhinestones and finished it off. Card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.

Paper Jewels will be giving one lucky winner a $15 gift certificate to use in her online store. The give a way will be drawn at the end of the month. Participate each week in the Critter Challenge to increase your chances of winning!

Here is my creation for the Blog Hop:

My card uses "Jewel Planting" and it's a great "Spring" card, and perfect for those who love flowers or gardening! I printed Jewel on Whisper White cardstock, colored her with Copics, then mounted her to a brown cardstock panel. I punched a strip of white cardstock with the new Martha Stewart Iron Gate punch to make it look like a small garden fence and glued it at the bottom of the mound of dirt.

My background paper is from the Paper Studio, and I adhered it to a medium blue cardstock, when glued it to a white card. I punched a border piece using the same blue cardstock with the Sweetheart Punch by Martha Stewart, and layered a green polka dot piece to it. I wrapped orange grosgrain ribbon around the piece then adhered it to my card. I added rhinestone flowers and orange strips of grosgrain for a decorative touch.

My sentiment is from Studio G and I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then outlined it with an orange Copic Marker. I finished the card off with small orange and green rhinestones. Card size: 5 1/2 x 6 inches. This card fits the sketch (below) for Our Creative Corner's Sketch Challenge.

Every Thursday, Sweet 'n Sassy has a challenge on their SNR Group! This week was using Yellow and Pink as our main colors! I used the "Best Friends" image and a sentiment from "Sunflower Sentiments" for my card. Read below as to how I made it!

My card also fits the sketch for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

I printed my image on Whisper White cardstock then colored with Copic Markers. I mounted the image to a glittery pink cardstock, then put it aside to construct my card. My tag was made using a Fancy Tag Nestabilities and I first printed my sentiment then cut it out with the tag.  My background paper is a Polished Marble glossy cardstock, and I adhered a glittery yellow cardstock that I had punched with the Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Punch. I added a strip of lace I had threaded with pink ribbon, then made a fluffy bow. I put all my pieces together and added rhinestones to finish the card. Card size: 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches

Purple Larkspur...

My card for today features a beautiful digistamp from Sweet 'n Sassy called "July Larkspur". It is a monthly series of floral images that are a delight to color. Hop over to the store and see the wonderful selection of designs and sentiments available!

My card fits the Midnight Madness Challenge! (sketch below)

I printed my image on Whisper White cardstock, then cut it out with a plain Oval Nestabilities. I colored with Copic Markers, then sponged Memento Sky Blue ink over the image to simulate "sky". I mounted my image to two Labels 4 Nestabilities I had cut out of black velvet paper I purchased from Hobby Lobby. My background paper is a Marbled Glossy paper and I adhered it to another panel of black velvet paper. I added a side panel of lavender glitter paper I purchased from Hobby Lobby to a blue cardstock piece and glued it to my marbled paper. My swirl of pearls were also purchased at HL and I added small pearls around the oval and black pearls to the corners. My sparkly butterflies are peel-off stickers by Pop Ups by Plane Class! I finished the card off with tiny black pearls and blue rhinestones for the bodies of the butterflies. This is a large card measuring 6 3/4 x 6 inches.

A Winter Card...

Well, since we got a bit more snow this morning (thankfully, it melted off the roads), I decided that my Challenge Card for Our Creative Corner Weekly Sketch (below) had to be a Winter Card! We are still definitely "in" Winter mode in upstate New York!

This card uses the delightful digital image called "Catchin' Flakes" from Fred, She Said. I printed the image on Whisper White cardstock, then cut it out with a Plain Circle Nestabilities. I sponged Memento Sky Blue and Danube Blue on the edges before removing the die. I colored the image with Copic Markers, then mounted it to a Scalloped Circle Nestabilities cut out.  My designer paper is from the Paper Studio and I adhered it to a brown cardstock panel. I added a brown satin ribbon strip down the center of the card to fit the sketch, then glued my image circle to the center. I used spray adhesive on my felt snowflakes then covered them in sparkly Seashell glitter from Art Glitter Institute (I just love the glitz of it). I added my snowflakes, my big bow, and lots of pearl beads and rhinestones! I finally mounted the panel to a white card sized: 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches

Belli Challenge today...

The new Belli Challenge is today and we are using Eyelets on our creations! The sponsor is Sunshine Stamps but you don't necessarily have to use one of their images to play with the design team!

Here is what you need to do...
1. Anyone Can Play! Spread the Word! :)
2. Make a completed project/card with anything with Eyelets... Grab something you have had laying around for ages! It could be a punch, a charm, paper - just Grab it and create!
3. Share the link in the comments linking to Mr. Linky on the Belli Challenge Blog -
CBC86. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or to your Blog, be sure and put CBC86 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!

Here's my card for the challenge!

In my drawing program, I overlaid a saying from the "Mouse Sentiments" by Ethereal Forest Designs onto the digistamp HopSkotch bunny by Sunshine Stamps. I printed the image on Whisper white cardstock, then cut it out and colored with Copic Markers. My designer paper is from the "Kids Stack" of Die Cuts with a View, and my eyelets were added with the Crop-a-dile. I finished the panel off with twine threaded through the eyelets. I mounted it to dark purple cardstock, then to a lime green card, sized: 5 x 5 inches

Sweet 'n Sassy Iris...

Today was a long day, so I pulled a card from my stash that I haven't posted! It uses a flower of the Month digistamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Digistamps! So without further delay, here is my card!

I printed the image four times onto Whisper White cardstock, by rotating the image in my drawing program. I colored the irises with Copic Markers, then stamped my sentiment from Close to My Heart in the center. I sponged Memento Sky Blue ink onto the edges, added a few butterflies and rhinestones and matted it to a dark purple card. Card size 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches
